Sally Wilkinson (Vice Chair)

Sally Wilkinson taught in primary schools in Ipswich before moving to work as an English Adviser and then Primary Curriculum Adviser for Suffolk LA. Following a short time as a headteacher in 2012, she again worked for the local authority as a School Improvement Partner and a Standards and Effectiveness Officer, supporting the development of school leadership, alongside completing a doctorate focused on school leadership with UCL Institute of Education in 2016. Since 2017 she has worked as the Primary Leader for Suffolk and Norfolk School Centred Initial Teacher Training, overseeing the training of around 120 primary PGCE trainees each year.

Sally is a member of the United Kingdom Literacy Association national council and editor of their primary magazine English 4 – 11. She is also a research associate for UCL Institute of Education where she is involved in research projects linked to school leadership.
