Early Career Teachers

At ASSET we believe in giving all Early Careers Teachers (ECT) the best possible start to their careers. We are committed to delivering bespoke support to each individual.

In 2021/22, the Early Careers Framework set out plans for all Trusts and schools to provide support and additional release, training and mentoring for all new teachers for the first two years of their career.   We understand and support this move as it is crucial that we nurture the strengths of our new staff and allow them to feel secure and confident in what they do.   All ASSET Schools have qualified mentors to support new staff in school.   In addition, the central team and other experts across the Trust will deliver 3 days of focused CPD over the first year focussing on pedagogy and the latest research led ideas and practice

ECTs and staff working with them will be supported by Kate Hodgetts, Headteacher at St Helens, who oversees Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and Early Careers teaching across the Trust.

Would you like to train to be a future teacher at ASSET?

As a Trust we believe in supporting our local ITT provider and work closely  with Norfolk Essex Suffolk Teacher Training to train and nurture future teachers. St. Helen’s  Primary is a lead school for nestt.
