The ASSET Alumni

All ASSET schools are primary schools, so we welcome the opportunity to learn from and support young people in our community when they leave us to go onto High School.

When children leave our 15 schools in Year 6 they have the opportunity to join the ASSET Alumni group, a youth social action group that enables young people to lead on work in their communities that is important to them.

Our Alumni has been running for two years so we currently have young people from Years 7 and 8 from local high schools, who will be organising activities to welcome the next group of children leaving our primary schools in Summer 2025.

Our Alumni group have supported Ipswich Social Mobility Alliance Events, come up with ideas for a "People Park" to create more inclusive spaces for young people in years 5-8, devised and run the Suffolk Young Speaker of the Year Awards, advised on young people's perspectives on smart phone use, given feedback to Trustees on how well we prepare young people for high school, and supported the National Youth Consultation Ipswich Hack as table facilitators.

This year we are incredibly excited that some of our Alumni are becoming #iwill ambassadors!

Each year the "OG" Alumni induct the "newbie" Alumni with a day of team-building and leadership activities that they design themselves.

To join the Alumni if you are leaving an ASSET primary school in Year 6 in Summer 2025, sign up here, and we'll send dates for the Summer activities in Halesworth and Ipswich.
