ASSET Pupils Leading the Way in Youth Social Action
ASSET Pupils Leading the Way in Youth Social Action
Our ASSET children are at the forefront of a vital conversation on youth social action, which has been highlighted in the latest annual Public Health Report from Public Health Suffolk. You can read the report here.
This year's report, focusing on Youth Social Action, is presented as a series of short videos. It makes the connection between social action and positive mental health outcomes, community, and belonging.
Our pupils have been actively involved in shaping this important work. In December, children from our Waveney schools participated in a Public Health hack in Lowestoft to add to the report’s findings. Most recently, children from Cliff Lane left a major impression when they spoke at the report launch last week, making incredible headlines. This success is a testament to how our focus on oracy and young leadership is equipping our children with exceptional skills for their adult lives.
We are so proud of our pupils for their amazing contributions to public health and community wellbeing in Suffolk.
ASSET Alumni at the National Youth Strategy
In December some of our Alumni travelled to London to the launch of the National Youth Strategy. To tackle loneliness, Lisa Nandy announced plans to rebuild youth clubs and boost support for mental health and online safety.
Our Alumni shared their perspective and ensured their voices were heard through an interview on Sky News.
