St Helen's Project

St Helen's was aware that they had pupils in the school from around the world, who all had different home diets and sometimes didn’t know what the food on the menu looks, smells or tastes like in advance so don’t try it. They decided that they needed to "try before you buy". To do this they created a free blind food tasting, where pupils can hear about the ingredients in a meal and try samples before they appear on the lunch menu.

Here are the results of their trial taste test:

St Helen's found this important as their pupils said that they won’t eat or choose to order any foods they are unsure about the ingredients or taste/look/smell off so finding a way to combat this through the taste tests should open up more students to healthy school dinners.
