Sponsor the Suffolk Young Speaker of the Year Awards
Sponsor the Suffolk Young Speaker of the Year Awards
We have an ambition to lift up young voices in Suffolk, giving young people the kind of experience that builds confidence in speaking that will pay them dividends in the future. Not only that, we want children and young people to have a platform that empowers them to talk about their vision and hopes for their future, community and sense of place; and understand how powerful it is to be heard.
Your sponsorship can help us make this event magnificent. We particularly want to create opportunities for those voices that are often unheard - children and young people in coastal and rural communities in Suffolk, and market towns, who find it challenging to get across the county to these kinds of events. The more sponsorship funding we can raise, we can offer speaking bursaries to young people who might otherwise struggle to participate - to meets costs such as transport, registration fees and staff cover for their supporting adult.
You can choose from any of the following:
Category sponsorship for £250
My Passion, Hobby or Sport
The government has announced that a key pillar of the national youth strategy will be "things to do", spending £850m on arts, drama, sport and venues for young people. Speakers will talk about what they love to do and how they think the government should spend that money.
How the World Works
Children and young people will speak about how they feel about what’s happening in the world right now. They will suggest their ideas about how we can create a peaceful, compassionate world where people move beyond conflict while staying true to their values and beliefs.
The Future
What do children hope the future holds for them? How do they feel about technology and AI, and how the world is changing? Young people will talk about their hopes and dreams for their life, career and communities.
Education
What do young people should learn in school, do they think that the education system is still fit for purpose? What’s most important to them, and what subjects do they love? Children will set out which topics should be more prominent - and which they think we should get rid of!
My City of Culture (Ipswich heats only)
As part of the bid for Ipswich to become the City of Culture in 2029, young people are asked to set out how they feel about their town - what makes them proud of where they live? What should Ipswich be known for by the rest of the UK, and why does it deserve to be a city of culture?
The Inclusion Award £500
For young people who have lived experience of exclusion, isolation or overcoming barriers, including but not limited to speaking, and speak positively about creating inclusive environments and cultures.
Bespoke Awards £500
You are also welcome to suggest sponsorship of another award of your choice which you can judge and award on the evening of the final, or offer special corporate sponsorship bursaries for children in your area.
Event Sponsorship for £1000
Become a Headline sponsor, with your branding across all of our award, certificates and communications.
As a sponsor you can choose whether to give us a judge in your category or for the main award, and let us know if you would like to present your award on the night.
We will feature your company in our communications before and after the event, across social media, local press and on our website.
We are also keen for sponsors to think about how they might create opportunities within their organisations for category and event winners to speak in their organisations after the event.
