Holton's Project

At the summit Holton realised that one challenge was that pupils were unsure about school dinners because "it might be horrible and I can't change my mind" along with the alternatives being inconsistent and once pupils have eaten one they don't like, they won't chose it again.

To fight this challenge they will survey students on their opinions of packed lunches to gauge them for health and Eco friendliness. They have already given students tokens so they can vote on meals they like to see if it is unhealthy and they attempted to encourage them to get healthier food with less food miles with this being a key part of providing results for the survey.

They also plan to introduce taste tests for new healthier foods which they hope will encourage students to have school dinners.

Holton found this to be important as understanding what pupils currently like and helping combat fears of trying new foods will play a key part in creating strategies to encourage more people to have school dinners.
